Retired Australian Test captain Ricky Ponting and his wife Rianna have sold their waterfront home in the Sutherland Shire's Burraneer Bay for close to 4.5 million dollars, according to reports.
According to The Age, the sale was preceded by the launch of a book by the former Australian cricket captain, Before the Close of Play, which fuelled a spat between Ponting and other cricketers over life in the dressing room.
The three-storey home was listed in April for about 5 million dollars and relaunched for upwards of 4.5 million dollars in October, the report said.
The specialist right-handed batsman has reportedly spent almost 10 million dollars on a 1920s Edwardian home on St Ninians Road, in Brighton, Melbourne, not far from the home of fellow Test cricketer Shane Warne and his on-again, off-again girlfriend Liz Hurley, the report added.
Ponting retired from Test cricket last December with a Test batting average of 51.85, according to the report.
