A San Francisco porn company has been fined 78,000 dollars for maintaining dangerous workplace conditions and allowing their performers to make films without using condoms.

Cybernet Entertainment, the parent company of internet porn producers Kink.com, has argued that many of its performers prefer not to use condoms and the fine was due to people who are against the adult film industry, the Guardian reported.

Peter Acworth, founder of Cybernet said that the fines are excessive and he believes they are also politically motivated.

He added that the complaints, which prompted the inspection, were not made by actual employees, but by outside groups who have a long history of opposition to adult film, and the company will be appealing the decision.

According to previous reports, the California Occupational Safety and Health Administration had cited Cybernet for a number of violations after an inspection in august.

AIDS Healthcare Foundation in Los Angeles had filed a formal complaint filed against Kink.com that prompted the inspection.
