President Pranab Mukherjee has appointed Justice Prafulla Chandra Pant, Judge of the High Court of Uttarakhand, as the Chief Justice of the High Court of Meghalaya with effect from the date he assumes charge of his office.
He also appointed Asapu Ramalingeswara Rao and Dama Seshadri Naidu as Additional Judges of Andhra Pradesh High Court, in that order of seniority, for a period of two years from the date they assume charge of their offices.
The President, after consultation with the Chief Justice of India P. Sathasivam, has transferred Justice Satish Kumar Agnihotri, Chhattisgarh High Court Judge, to the Madras High Court and has directed him to assume charge of his office in the Madras High Court on or before October 3.
