Prasar Bharati on Friday celebrated World Theatre Day with a unique show on renowned sculptor Ramkinkar Baij, which envisioned a cross-genre performance from 21st century India, while revisiting the creative milieu of the talented artist.
The show, titled '409 Ramkinkars', moved beyond the biographical or historical in performance, with an ensemble of trained professional actors spread over the IGNCA grounds at multiple sites.
The World Theatre Day was created by the International Theatre Institute to celebrate theatre and international harmony and is celebrated in over 100 countries. This year is the 50th anniversary of the occasion.
