A woman in Sudan has been sentenced to death by a court for abandoning Islam after she married a Christian man.
The woman is reportedly to be hanged for apostasy- abandoning her religious faith.
According to the BBC, Amnesty International condemned the sentence, handed down by a judge in Khartoum, as "appalling and abhorrent".
The woman, who is eight month's pregnant, will be hung after two years post giving birth to the child.
During the trial, the judge told the woman that the court had given her three days to recant but since she insisted on not returning to Islam, she would be hanged to death.
The woman has also been sentenced to 100 lashes for committing adultery, because her marriage to a Christian man was not valid under Islamic law, the report adds.
