President Pranab Mukherjee on Tuesday appointed six new governors for Meghalaya, Arunachal Pradesh, Mizoram, Tripura, Manipur and Jharkhand.
Droupadi Murmu has been appointed as the Governor of Jharkhand in place of Syed Ahmed who has been appointed as the Governor of Manipur for remainder of his term.
Meanwhile, J.P. Rajkhowa has been appointed as the Governor of Arunachal Pradesh, Tathagata Roy as the Governor of Tripura and V. Shanmuganthan has been appointed as the Governor of Meghalaya.
Simultaneously, Nirbhay Sharma has been transferred and appointed as the Governor of Mizoram for the remainder of his term.
