President Pranab Mukherjee arrived in Stockholm on Sunday for his three-day official visit of Sweden.
The official twitter account of the Rashtrapati Bhavan shared the information.
"#PresidentMukherjee arrived in Stockholm this evening and was welcomed by Crown Princess Victoria and Prince Daniel," it posted.
"Swedish fighter planes escorted the Presidential flight from the time it entered Swedish air space till landing," it added.
The President, who later greeted Sweden King Carl Gustaf XVI, was also accorded a guard of honour.
"The King of Sweden accompanied him in a horse driven carriage to the Royal Palace where a welcome ceremony was held," the Rashtrapati Bhavan twitter account posted.
"#PresidentMukherjee and the King of Sweden inspected a Guard of Honour," it added.

President Mukherjee will be in Sweden till June 2 and will then travel to Belarus.
This is the first visit by an Indian president to the Scandinavian country.
