President Pranab Mukherjee on Saturday condoled the death of distinguished parliamentarian and veteran Congress leader P. R. Kyndiah.
"I am deeply saddened to learn about the passing away of P. R. Kyndiah, a friend and colleague of long years," said President Mukherjee in his message to P. R. Kyndiah's son Waibha Kyndiah.
"Please accept my heartfelt condolences and convey the same to the rest of your family members. I pray to the Almighty to give you and other members of the family the strength to bear this irreparable loss," he added.
Kyndiah served the nation in various capacities during his long public life.
As Union Minister in-charge of Tribal Affairs and Development of North Eastern Region (DONER), he initiated a number of measures for the progress and development of the people of northeast.
