President Pranab Mukherjee on Sunday praised the Bharat Sevashram Sangha (BSS) for its role in social welfare activities across the nation, adding that the organisation has contributed to the development of the financially-weak and neglected sections of society.
"The BSS is engaged in a host of social welfare activities all over the country. It is contributing towards development of the people at large, and in particular the financially-weak and neglected sections. The BSS is contributing in the spheres of health, education and self-employment," President Mukherjee said, while inaugurating an old-age home here.
The President also noted that the BSS was known for its contribution in the healthcare sector, adding that the organisation has also played a diligent role in rescue and relief operations during natural calamities.
