President Pranab Mukherjee and Vice President Hamid Ansari have greeted the nation on the occasion of Ganesh Chaturthi.
President Mukherjee in his message said the celebration of Ganesh Chaturthi marks the birth of Lord Ganesha, the remover of obstacles and the God of wisdom and good fortune.
He appealed to the countrymen to re-affirm their faith in all that is good, noble and virtuous.
Vice President Ansari in his message said Lord Ganesh is revered as embodiment of wisdom, prosperity and good fortune.
"I hope that the festival will bring peace, harmony and prosperity in people's life," he added.
