West Bengal should be placed under President's Rule if political killings continue in the state and Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee "remains apathetic", Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) Delhi unit chief Alok Kumar said on Friday.

Talking to ANI, Kumar urged people of the state to raise their voice against continued political violence.

"I believe that all those who believe in democracy, inclusiveness, and right to dissent must assert and raise their voice against the continued violence and intimidation in West Bengal," he said.

"If the government continues to be apathetic and political violence continues, in my opinion, it is a fit case of imposition of President rule," he added.

Kumar, also the International President of Vishwa Hindu Parishad, had on Thursday condemned the horrific murder of an RSS worker, his pregnant wife, and their eight-year-old son and asked the Centre to consider imposing President's rule in the state.

On comments of CPI leader D. Raja of RSS trying to destabilise non-BJP governments, he said the issue was of unending political violence. He said Raja should have spoken on the brutal murders.
