President Pranab Mukherjee on Tuesday extended greetings and felicitations to the Government and people of Canada on the eve of their National Day.
"On the occasion of Canada's National Day, it is with pleasure that I convey warm greetings and felicitations on behalf of the Government and people of India. India and Canada have a shared commitment to democracy, pluralism, tolerance and rule of law - which have been the bedrock of our multifaceted partnership," President Mukherjee's message to the Governor-General of Canada David Johnston read.
The President said that the bonds of friendship between the two countries are supported and strengthened by the robust exchanges and collaborations between our peoples.
"It is a matter of satisfaction that we have elevated our relationship to a strategic partnership. Please accept, Excellency, my best wishes for your good health and well being as also the continued progress and prosperity of the friendly people of Canada," the message added.
