The church priest, who helped Prince Harry and Meghan Markle get married, is now fighting prostate cancer.
According to TMZ, Bishop Michael Curry found out about the ailment a few months ago, during a routine check-up.
He is set to undergo surgery in the coming week to get rid of his prostate gland.
It is estimated that it would take somewhere around four to six weeks for the priest to recuperate.
"I am happy to say that the prognosis looks very good and quite positive," TMZ quoted Curry, as saying.
His religious discourse "love is the way" stole the show at the royal wedding.
On a related note, the Duke and Duchess of Sussex Harry and Meghan got married on May 19.
