England wicketkeeper Matt Prior has insisted that his flop batting performance last summer had nothing to do with a cycling-based weight-loss programme which has seen him lose nearly twelve kilograms or two stone.
Prior has lost almost 22 pounds since getting into cycling, after being told that losing weight was the key to longevity behind the stumps.
According to the Daily Express, although the player's massive weight loss coincided with a drop in his batting performance, his average falling to 17 during the Ashes this summer, Prior said that he set out to lose the weight from the cycling programme and is fitter from a batting point of view.
Prior also said that he should be less tired while batting instead of the reverse, although he added that he needs to play to his strengths in order to make more bigger scores and last long at the crease.
