Prithviraj Chavan inaugurates Mumbai's monorail

Maharashtra Chief Minister Prithviraj Chavan on Saturday inaugurated a monorail service in Mumbai.

The chief minister flagged off the first monorail at Wadala Monorail Station. Afterwards, he alongwith other minister rode in it till the last station.

Chavan inaugurated the 8.93 km long part between Wadala and Chembur in Mumbai's eastern side. The monorail will be linked to major local train stations.

The coaches of the monorail are air conditioned and can accommodate 560 passengers at a time.
