In a pulsating encounter, Jaipur Pink Panthers defeated Bengal Warriors 36-33 as Jasvir Singh and Shabeer Bappu produced terrific individual performances in the fourth edition of the Pro Kabaddi League here at the Sawai Mansingh Stadium.
Jasvir Singh scored 13 raid points, whereas Shabeer Bappu was a rock in defence and came up crucial raid points, as Jaipur remained unbeaten at home.
The win propelled Jaipur to second spot and level on points with league leaders Puneri Paltan. Bengal Warriors remained in sixth position.
Jaipur Pink Panthers began strongly as they led 3-1 after the first five minutes. The Bengal Warriors came back to lead 4-3 as Monu Goyat scored two successive raid points. Jasvir Singh scored two points in the seventh minute as Jaipur Pink Panthers led 5-4. It was anyone's game as both teams were tied 6-6 after 10 minutes of the first half.
Nitin Madane scored three points with a super raid in 12th minute as the Warriors led 10-7. Staring at an all-out, Jasvir Singh rescued Jaipur Pink Panthers by scoring a point and they quickly forced a super tackle in the 14th minute as they trailed 11-12. Jasvir Singh then forced Nilesh Shinde out of bounds, as the scores were level at 12-12 in the 17 th minute. Shabeer Bappu had an excellent first half as he scored four tackle points and three raid points as Jaipur Pink Panthers went into the break leading 17-16.
In the third minute of the second half, Bengal Warriors inflicted the first all out as they led 21-17. Jasvir Singh then scored two raid points in the sixth minute of second half to tie to game at 21-21. In the ninth minute, Shrikant Jadhav came on as a substitute and scored two points for Bengal Warriors to give them 24-21.
But Jasvir Singh completed his super 10 in the 10th minute to cut the deficit to just one point. The Pink Panthers inflicted an all out in the 11th minute to lead 29-24. Warriors then rallied to level the game 29-29 with less than six minutes left on the clock.
With less than 90 seconds left, Jaipur Pink Panthers forced a super tackle to lead 32-31. Shabeer Bappu then got a bonus point in the last minute as Jaipur led 33-31 which followed by two more raid points as Jaipur came out on top in a seesaw encounter.
