The Maharashtra Food and Drug Administration (FDA) on Friday said that it would advise the state government on the raging Maggi issue only after the reports on the constitution of the instant noodles come.

The reports are expected shortly.

"We can say something only after the reports come. We are waiting for the reports. Reports are expected to come today. The tests are being done both here and in Pune. We have sent 15 samples for testing from Maharashtra," Maharashtra FDA Joint Commissioner Suresh Annapure told ANI.

On Thursday, Nestle India decided to pull its product from the market in wake of samples of Maggi noodles being found to contain an excess of lead and MSG.

Five states have banned the product so far: Delhi, Jammu and Kashmir, Uttarakhand, Tamil Nadu and Gujarat. Singapore has also banned the noodles.
