The results from South Africa's fitness and assessment camp held at the Centre of Excellence in Pretoria have left the squad's fitness and conditioning coach Greg King 'very happy'.

King said the various tests have given the management a good indication of where the players are at from a fitness point of view, ahead of the new season, which includes a tour to Sri Lanka next month.

According to Sport24, King said South Africa has these tests every year at the beginning of the season to give them a good idea of the fitness levels and medical conditioning of the players ahead of the season.

The fitness coach added that it was also important for them to get standardized targets of the players in the system, which makes it easier to work from during the season.

King said he is very happy with the results, adding that the squad put in a lot of work during the Indian Premier League (IPL), which has shown.

King said that he was lucky to be there with the South African players during the IPL, so he was able to monitor them and to do a few assessments with the squad members.
