UPSC candidates protesting outside Rajnath Singh's residence have said that they are not hopeful that their demands will be met.

Tanay Rana, a UPSC aspirant said, "We have already met Rajnath Singh four times before. Like every time, even today, he has assured us that he will discuss the matter with the Prime Minister. But we are not very hopeful of the positive results."

"If our demands of scrapping the C-SAT (aptitude test) and increasing limit of age relaxation are not met, the hunger strike will continue at the North Campus. After two or three days, a nation- wide protest will be organized," he added.

Last month, Union Public Service Commission granted two extra attempts for the candidates appearing for the Civil Services Examination and also relaxed the consequential age from this year onwards. A candidate between the age group of 21-32 years on August 1, 2014 can take the exam.

The Civil Services Examination for the year 2014 will be held on August 24. The examination is conducted in three stages-preliminary, main and interview.
