Ligue 1 club Paris Saint-Germain on Monday confirmed that they have parted ways with manager Laurent Blanc.

Despite winning three league titles and domestic trebles in the last two years as coach, Blanc failed to guide the PSG past the quarterfinals of the Champions League in each of his three seasons in charge.

Confirming the news, PSG thanked and expressed their gratitude for the work accomplished over the last three years by Laurent and his staff, the Guardian reported.

Earlier this year, the Qatari-owned club had signed a two-year contract extension with Blanc.

Sevilla boss Unai Emery has been linked with the vacant post.
