The last rites of Havildar Madan Lal, who had laid down his life in Jammu and Kashmir's Naugam Sector on September 20 while leading his team in the operation that foiled an infiltration bid by armed terrorists, were today held in his hometown, Gharota, Punjab with full military honours.
His whole family was seen in pain and tears as they bid their final goodbye to the braveheart.
The Indian Army earlier paid homage to in a solemn wreath laying ceremony at the Badami Bagh Cantt, Srinagar, the Chinar Corps Commander Lt General Satish Dua and other army persons paid rich tributes to the brave, 37 year old martyr from the Dogra Regiment.
Havildar Madan Lal, who hailed from village Gharota Pathankot, is survived by his wife Bhawna Devi and two young children ---a six-year-old daughter and a two-year old son.
