Police in Punjab's Dinanagar area reportedly took the help of the army to defuse an active rocket seized from terrorists who had attacked the place six days ago.
According to a report appearing in The Tribune on Monday, a disposable rocket launcher (DRL) was also seized.
The police is reportedly claiming that the rocket had the capability to blow up the entire police station premises besides damaging buildings within a radius of 100 meters.
The paper quotes Ishwar Chander Sharma, Inspector General of Police (Border), as saying that the police had to wait for six days to defuse the rocket as they did not have the resources d to do so.
According to the paper, about 60 army soldiers were roped in for the exercise.
The device was taken to Makkoran Pattan village near the confluence of the Ravi and the Ujh rivers and disposed of.
