Russian President Vladimir Putin has accused the United States of destabilizing the world order by failing to respect the interests of other countries, pointing to wars in Iraq, Syria and Libya as examples of botched U.S. policies that have led to chaos.
According to News.com.au, he said that the U.S. and its allies are fighting in those countries against its own policies.
Putin accused the West of ignoring Russia's interests in supporting the ouster of Ukraine's former Russian-leaning President.
He said that the sanctions imposed against Moscow earlier by the U.S. were aimed at pushing Russia into isolation.
Putin argued that the interests of other nations including Russia should be taken into account and that he was not asking a special place in the world for Russia.
