Public prosecutor Jam Salahuddin has said that the police have completed their investigation in Qandeel Baloch's murder case, adding the suspects would be produced before a court after Eid.

Salahuddin said that the police would oppose the bail application moved by Abdul Basit, arrested for driving the killers from Multan to Dera Ghazi Khan, and request daily hearings.

"We want the court to reach a verdict as soon as possible," the Express Tribune quoted him as saying.

He, however, maintained that police would not challenge the bail application of another suspect Zafar, suspected of provoking Qandeel's brother to kill her.

Salahuddin said that the police had received mobile phone records of Mufti Abdul Qavi, Haq Nawaz, Waseem and Qandeel, adding thatQandeel Baloch had sent 10 text messages apologising to Mufti in their last conversation.

He said Qandeel's brother Arif, who lived in Saudi Arabia, had also called Waseem and urged him to kill her.

Stating that the police had sent her mobile phone and iPad to Lahore to obtain more data, he said Mufti's call record did not show that he was in contact with Baloch's relatives.

Social media sensation Qandeel was allegedly killed by her brother in an apparent honour killing on July 16.

After going on the run, her brother was arrested and in his confession video, he expressed no regret.
