Qatar Airways have some really shocking rules set for their female workers under which the women need to seek management's permission to get married and can be sacked if they get pregnant.
According to the UN, flight attendants for the Middle Eastern airline are bound to adhere to the company's strict policies, even while off duty, reported the Daily Express.
As per the policies, female cabin crew cannot be dropped off or picked up from work by men other than their brother, father or husband, which the airlines claims to be a "cultural norm."
UN's International Labour Organisation (ILO) conducted a year-long investigation, and is now demanding the airline to removes the provisions, with Sharan Burrow, general secretary of the International Trade Union Confederation, calling the treatment of staff "abhorrent".
However, Akbar Al Baker, the airline's chief executive, said he was assigned to run a successful airline and didn't "give a damn about the ILO."
Their country had strongly responded to the accusations as the clauses were clarified in their contract, he added.
