In a recent development to the controversial 2022 World Cup, it is believed that Qatar would be cleared of corruption allegations, which occurred during the bidding process, when a FIFA report of 42 pages summary is published on Thursday.

The allegations were laid against Qatar of having won the hosting rights after it reportedly paid three million pounds to FIFA officials to support its bid. The report also slammed the English Football Association for its behavior during 2018 WC bidding process, The BBC reported.

Raising many eyebrows, Qatar won the staging rights in 2010 beating bids from Australia, the United States, South Korea and Japan. It was followed by the corruption allegations, which were always denied by the Qatar bidding committee. Later, an inquiry was ordered to look into these allegations headed by independent ethics investigator Michael Garcia.

Garcia was also given the task to inquire into the bidding process for the 2018 World Cup, which would be held in Russia. However, a revote reportedly would not be recommended by the FIFA's independent ethics adjudicator, Hans Joachim Eckert, who has submitted the summary reports after studying Garcia's findings.
