Queens Park Rangers' chairman Tony Fernandes has said that Harry Redknapp would remain as the manager of the Premier League club, ending speculations of a threat to his position.

QPR are currently placed second from bottom in the Premier League table and Redknapp's position had been thought to be under threat.

However, ending all speculations, Fernandes said in a statement on the club's website that he thought it was time to end all the speculation, so everyone could focus on the challenge ahead, the BBC reported.

Fernandes claimed that he firmly believes Redknapp is the best man to get QPR out of the position they currently find themselves in.

Speculations became rife last week that Redknapp would be sacked if his side lost to Manchester United last Saturday. And QPR lost the match 0-2 to United, and later Redknapp blamed an insider for attempting to destabilize the club.

Fernandes said that he has spoken to his manager at length over the past week and that the former Tottenham Hotspur and Portsmouth boss was determined to turn this around and keep QPR in the Premier League.
