Qualcomm has announced the successor to its mid-range processor Snapdragon 660 with the new Snapdragon 710.
The Qualcomm Snapdragon 710 SoC includes AI enhancements compared to its predecessor. Qualcomm says the newer chipset will be able to offer improvements in applications including voice-based user interfaces from photography to biometrics, The Verge reported.
It includes the X15 LTE modem and Spectra 250 image processor. Other features include improved up to 800 Mbps download speed, 10-bit colour support, and overall 20 percent performance enhancement with reduced power consumption.
The new Snapdragon 710 SoC will be the first Qualcomm chips to support playback of 4K HDR video outside of the flagship offerings.
Qualcomm is promising the first Snapdragon 710-powered phones to be released sometime in second quarter of 2018.
