Rachel McAdams is in talks to play the female in HBO crime drama series 'True Detective.'
The 35-year-old beauty would star alongside Colin Farrell and Vince Vaughn in the second season of the acclaimed show, which would return in 2015, it the deal works out, Deadline.com reported.
The upcoming season would revolve around 3 police officers and a career criminal who must navigate a web of conspiracy in the aftermath of a murder, where McAdams would be required to play Ani Bezzerides, a Monterey Sheriff who though is very professional about her work, is a drinker and a gambler after work hours.
According to the reports, after a lot consideration and extensive search, the makers had already offered the role to McAdams, however, her representatives denied the news of any formal offer yet.
