Indian batting star Ajinkya Rahane has scored an impressive half-century to send his Indian Premier League (IPL) side Rajasthan Royals to a four-wicket victory over Sunrisers Hyderabad on Friday in a low-scoring game at Abu Dhabi.
Rahane's 52-ball 59 and his 77-run stand for the fourth wicket with Stuart Binny (47 not out) had put Rajasthan on the victory path after they made heavy weather of their modest run chase of 133, losing three quick wickets early on in their 2014 IPL opener at the Shaikh Zayed Stadium.
According to Gulf News, although Royals lost quick wickets to revive Hyderabad's hopes once Rahane departed, however, James Faulkner hit back-to-back boundaries in the final over to finish the game with a deserving win for Rajasthan, who restricted Sunrisers Hyderabad to 133 for six
More than 400 runs had been scored in the day's first match between Kings XI Punjab and Chennai Super Kings, which ended in favour of the former, the report added.
