Tamil Nadu capital Chennai on Friday continued to reel under a flood-like situation due to heavy rains.
The downpour has forced around 70,000 people to move into relief camps.
Most parts of Chennai like Mogappair and Kotturpuram were submerged under water as incessant rains lashed the city for the past one week due to a low pressure trough in the Bay of Bengal.
In Vanagaram area, the hapless residents were seen wading through knee-deep water as it entered the houses. They said they haven't received any help from the authorities yet.
Kamla, a resident, said, "The water has surrounded the whole area and to take it out, we are getting equipments with our own money. When we start to take out the water, the authorities come and object it."
She added, "Now tell me, what do we do? Do we continue to live like this?"
