The latest round of talks between the Rajasthan Government and the Gujjar community on the reservation issue failed on Wednesday as neither side was able to reach to a successful conclusion.

The Gujjar community has demanded a five percent reservation within the legal limit of 50 percent in the state.

"We asked for reservation under the 50 percent legal limit, but they said that it cannot be done as it will affect social harmony. We do not think that the government will do justice with us. Thus, the talks did not reach any conclusion," Gujjar delegation spokesperson Himmat Singh told the media.

The community has blocked the railway line at Pilupura under the leadership of Colonel Kirodi Singh Bainsla, which has resulted in the closure of the Delhi-Mumbai route. The protest has reportedly resulted in the Railways incurring a loss of Rs. 15 crore per day due to the disruption of rail traffic along the route.

According to reports, the Rajasthan Roadways buses have also not been allowed to ply with protestors blocking the Jaipur-Agra, Tonk-Shivpuri and Bayana-Hindaun roads.
