Rajasthan police have arrested five alleged smugglers with six kilograms of narcotics in Rajasthan.
Acting on a tip-off, police conducted raids and nabbed two accused in Jaisalmer district and later three suspects from neighbouring Barmer district.
Superintendent of Police, Vishnu Kant, said the accused would be produced in the court for police remand for further investigation.
"During police action, six kilogram of heroin and two (sic) accused were arrested. The investigation is underway," Kant said.
Kant added the consignment was brought from Pakistan in bottles which was to be delivered to someone else.
"During the preliminary investigation, three smugglers, who were arrested from Barmer told us that they received the consignment from across the border in bottles, which was to be sent to somewhere else. In this regard, the investigation is underway," added Kant.
