Union Home Minister Rajnath Singh on Friday spoke to Assam Chief Minister Tarun Gogoi about the killing of Hindi speaking people in the state's Tinsukia region.
The Home Minister shared this information via a series of tweets.
"Spoke to Assam CM Shri @tarun_gogoi this morning who apprised me of the situation in Tinsukia region post the killing of Hindi speakers," he posted.
"Shri Gogoi told me that the state had already rushed security forces to Tinsukia region to maintain peace and order," he posted.
"I assured the Assam CM of all possible help from the Centre including additional security forces if needed," he posted.
On Tuesday, Nandalal Shah and his daughter Kajol Shah were killed in indiscriminate firing by suspected ULFA(I) militants at his residence in Tinsukia district.
