Union Home Minister Rajnath Singh and External Affairs Minister Sushma Swaraj on Sunday reached out to the people of Haryana and urged them to vote for the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) in the upcoming state assembly polls.

Rajnath, who addressed a rally in Palval, lured the people to vote for the BJP and slammed the Congress party.

"Seeing this crowd, I have become confident that the people of Haryana will vote for the BJP this time in the assembly elections. I could not imagine that the BJP will win seven seats during the Lok Sabha elections," he said.

Reminding the crowd how the BJP managed to win 282 seats in the Lok Sabha elections, he thanked the people for their love and support.

Taking a jibe at the Congress party which was decimated in the Lok Sabha polls, Rajnath said that the former has now reached a position where all their MPs could fit into a mini-bus and could be sent on a nationwide tour.

He claimed that the Congress does not have any issues related to the people in the Parliament and instead was vouching for getting the Leader of Opposition' post.

The Home Minister charged the previous Congress-led UPA regime of pushing the country backwards to twenty years.

He also patted the government's initiatives of controlling price rise, which he claimed would have continued had the UPA continued in power.

Meanwhile, Swaraj, who addressed a rally in Jind, claimed that the perspective about India's stature in the world has completely changed following the change in government.

She also highlighted her efforts in bringing back stranded Indian nationals from Iraq, Libya and Ukraine.

"This is the result of a strong leadership and governance," she said.
