Opposition MPs crowded into the Well of the House and raised slogans against the government, which had on Tuesday introduced the GST Bill for passage.
Congress leaders insisted on the presence of Prime Minister Narendra Modi in the House.
Proceedings in the Lok Sabha were also adjourned till 12.30 p.m. after Speaker Sumitra Mahajan said that the Congress Party's request for an adjournment motion would be considered based on conditions set as per the Rules of Business of the Lower House.
Congress leader Mallikarjun Kharge retorted that he would not speak a word till Prime Minister Modi took his seat in the Lok Sabha.
The Monsoon Session of Parliament ends tomorrow.
