Bilaspur Police in Chhattisgarh now holds the Guinness World Records for its 'Rakhi with Khakhi' as part of which women of all ages tied 'Rakhi' to 50,033 police officials in 10 hours and took selfies with them.
"Bilaspur Police under the leadership of Arif H. Shaikh, Superintendent of Police, Bilaspur, Chhattisgarh, India achieved a record of maximum selfies in 10 hours as a segment of #RakhiwithKhakhi initiative. A noble step towards women empowerment by forging bond between police and women to address the problems of sexual exploitation, eve teasing and domestic violence which was conducted on August 25, 2018 in schools, colleges, public places and community of Bilaspur city, making the spectacular outreach of 50,033 selfies portraying women of all age groups clicking selfies with the police constables and officials," read the certificate to the Bilaspur Police.
At an event here, Shaikh said that the 'Rakhi with Khakhi' initiative was started by the police to make the occasion of Raksha Bandhan special for the police personnel.
"Women of all ages took part in the initiative on a grand scale. This is the reason why we were able to set up this record," he added.
