The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) on Wednesday launched a blistering attack on the opposition parties for their desperate attempts to politicise the Ram Temple issue and said that this matter has to be resolved either through a court order or consensus.

BJP spokesperson Nalin Kohli said the saffron party's stand has been very consistent with regard to the Ram Temple at Ayodhya.

"The current issue is coming up and deferent political parties are trying to politicise it because our Union Minister for Tourism Mahesh Sharma has pointed out that there is a Ramayana circuit going to be developed," Kohli told ANI.

"The Ramayana circuit is a circuit in itself. There has been a Buddha circuit, there has also a Krishna circuit, and these circuits are taking place," he added while asserting that those politicising this have no issues left.

The Union Tourism Minister, who yesterday visited Ayodhya to inspect the proposed site for setting up a Ramayana museum, said those who get to do "Ram Ka Kaam" were fortunate.

"If anyone gets a chance to work for Bhagwan Ram he is most fortunate...it will be good fortune if Bhagwan Ram gives us a chance to do 'Ram ka kaam' and this responsibility has been given to Prime Minister Narendra Modi by the people of the country," he said.

Rajya Sabha MP and former head of the Bajrang Dal Vinay Katiyar, however, described the BJP's attempts to promote tourism in Ayodhya as a "lollipop".

He said nothing short of a Ram Mandir in Ayodhya was acceptable as that was the historical commitment of the BJP government.
