Yoga guru Baba Ramdev on Monday called Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) prime ministerial candidate Narendra Modi as a 'saviour' and urged people to vote for him to save the country from what he alleged " the anarchic and anti-Hindu rule of the Congress President Sonia Gandhi".

Addressing a news conference here, Baba Ramdev said that Modi's win is certain and the result of the ongoing general elections on May 16 is just a formality.

"Today the country is going through a period of political and financial chaos. And only Modi can save us from this political turmoil," said Baba Ramdev.

Meanwhile, Ramdev, who came under flak for his remark on Congress vice president Rahul Gandhi visiting the Dalit community for picnics, said that it was a conspiracy of Sonia Gandhi who is misconstruing his remark.

The remark from Ramdev was seen not only as a political attack on the Gandhi family, but also an insult to the women of the Dalit community.

He further said that the Congress party has no sympathy with Dalits and is using them for its vote bank. He also called Gandhi an anti-Hindu for denying the existence of Hindu Gods, Ram and Krishna.

"Sonia Gandhi has insulted the Hindu religion. In fact she insults Hindu saints and priests daily. She conspires and calls me anti-Dalit, whereas she herself is an anti-Hindu and anti- cow protection. She has the audacity to deny the existence of our holy ancestors," said Baba Ramdev.
