Rape accused former Rajasthan Minister Babulal Nagar, who has been suspended from the Congress Party, today said that his political opponents were trying to frame him to malign his reputation.

"It is a conspiracy. My political opponents hired a woman and lodged a baseless case against me, but truth will be revealed," said Nagar.

"I am a loyal worker of the Congress Party. I have no existence of my own, whatever I am today is because of my party," he added.

53-year-old Nagar said the party is supreme for him, and added that he would not like anybody to point fingers at his party following the allegations of rape levelled against him.

"Senior leaders in the party took this decision (to suspend me) for the good of the party. I believe in all my leaders," said Nagar.

"Even though I am not a Congress member on papers, but I will keep working for the party," he added.
