Congress leader Rashid Alvi on Wednesday condemned Jammu Deputy Inspector General Shakeel Beig and his son for their reported abuse of power, terming their actions as unfortunate.
He said such reprehensible acts clearly go against the country's cultural sensitivity and should not be allowed to take place.
Alvi's reaction came after media flashed pictures of Beig's son on the social networking site Instagram, which show both allegedly going overboard in the enjoyment of perks of power.
"These kinds of things keep happening, and it is very unfortunate. Whether it is a big official or someone else, whosoever does such acts, it is condemnable and unfortunate, and should not happen. The nation and its culture don't permit such things," Alvi told ANI here.
The pictures show a man tying DIG Beig's shoe laces and an armed security personnel acting as a caddie. These pictures have invited strong reactions from netizens.
Another picture posted by Beig's son, which has appeared in a leading newspaper, shows a man holding an umbrella for Beig.
