Rashtrawadi Shiv Sena leader, Jai Bhagwan, on Tuesday announced his decision to oppose Pakistani lifestyle exhibition in New Delhi.

Apart from Rashtrawadi Shiv Sena other Hindu groups such as Vishwa Hindu Parishad (VHP) have written to Delhi Lieutenant Governor Najeeb Jung and Delhi Police Commissioner B. S. Bassi to call off the event named 'Alishan Pakistan'.

The four-day event will take place from September 11-14 with over 150 exhibitors displaying their products at Pragati Maidan.

"We want that one-sided friendship should end. If we want to extend friendship, brotherhood and trade then it should be reciprocated from there (Pakistan) also. That is why we oppose it. We have protested. We have requested the Prime Minister, the FICCI and administration of Pragati Maidan to cancel the permission given to them. Such activity shouldn't take place, if such activity takes place our Hindu group and Shiv Sena will oppose it," said Jai Bhagwan.

Meanwhile, Samajwadi Party leader Naresh Agarwal, dismissed the protest threat.

"Media highlights such people. Media thinks that negative information is news while it ignores the positive developments. As a result, some people take such a stand to get publicity in newspapers and television channels. It is a small issue," said Agarwal.

The event is being organised by Federation of Indian Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FICCI).
