External Affair Minister Sushma Swaraj on Saturday said India would send 14-year-old Pakistani boy Ramzan, who has been stranded in Bhopal for over two years, back to his home in Karachi if the Pakistan Government is ready to accept him.

"In case Pakistan is ready to accept #Ramzan, we will send him back," she tweeted.

Ramzan had crossed into Indian territory in 2011 via Bangladesh.

Meanwhile, Indian High Commissioner to Pakistan T. C. A. Raghavan on Tuesday met Razia Begum, Ramzan's mother, stoking hopes of his return to Karachi.

"Our High Commissioner met #Ramzan's mother in Karachi on 3 Nov. We r prepared to give her visa to facilitate meeting with her son in Bhopal, tweeted Swaraj on Saturday.

Media Reports suggested Ramzan was separated from his mother at the age of 10 when his father Mohammad took him to Bangladesh and remarried. After being tortured by his stepmother, the boy crossed the border alone in 2011 with the hope of returning to his mother in Pakistan.

The High Commission's meeting with Razia came a day after external affairs minister Sushma Swaraj had tweeted: "Geeta is happy in Indore. We will resolve Ramzan and Salman's cases shortly. Our high commissioner is in Karachi. Will meet Ramzan's mother.
