Extending a helping hand to distressing refugees, Spanish football giants Real Madrid on Saturday pledged to donate one million euros to help support projects for refugees taken in by Spain.
The Spanish club said in a statement they had taken this decision with the objective to help the men, women and children that had been obliged to abandon their homes to flee war and death, Sport24 reported.
In addition, Real have promised to provide sports kits for young refugees.
Earlier, German champions Bayern Munich had vowed to donate one million euros besides helping the authorities to set up a training camp for those coming into Munich.
The International Olympic Committee (IOC) also pledged to donate two million dollars to help ease the burgeoning humanitarian crisis in Europe.
