Rebel Janata Dal (United) MLA from Gujarat Chhotubhai Vasava on Saturday confirmed his alliance with the Congress party for the upcoming state assembly elections in Gujarat after meeting Congress vice president Rahul Gandhi in Delhi.
General Secretary in charge of the Gujarat unit of the Congress party and former Rajasthan chief minister Ashok Gehlot was present in the meeting.
"We will contest the election in alliance with the Congress, We will work, fight and win it," Vasava said.
Vasava said they have not discussed the distribution of seats among the two parties.
"We did not talk about the seats in this meeting but we are definitely going to talk about that very soon," the MLA said.
"We discussed fighting the elections together in alliance and we will win for sure," he added.

The leader said the recent split of JD(U) will not cause problems in the alliance.
"That will not be a problem. We will meet him again and I will strongly keep my viewpoints before him," he said.
Talking about the agenda of the newly-formed alliance in the upcoming elections, Vasava said, "we want beneficiaries for the poor. We will fight for the rights of which they were deprived till now".
