Red Bull team boss Christian Horner has revealed that world champion Lewis Hamilton, who has dominated the past two seasons of Formula One, is desperate to join his team.
Horner said although the 30-year-old wanted to join Red Bull, he added that they could not accommodate him as Sebastian Vettel is already in their team, Sport24 reported.
Horner further said that it was he who encouraged Mercedes chairman Niki Lauda to sign Hamilton in order to weaken McLaren, adding that he was not aware that the former team would later become the absolute powerhouse.
Hamilton, who is looking forward to his first Grand Prix in March, won 10 races in the previous season.
