Some of the families of the Punjabi youths who are trapped in Iraq revealed on Friday that they are actually reeling under heavy debts, and would like their boys to come home to handle the situation.
They said that they had taken loans on heavy interest rates to send their boys to Iraq.
"Jaan Hai to Jahan Hai", said Jitoo, a resident of Village Chawinda Devi.
To send her elder son Sonu to make more money in Iraq, Jitoo borrowed Rs. 1.30 lakhs on a promise to pay it back with five percent interest.
She said that no matter how much debt her family was under, she wanted her Sonu and other Punjabi youths to return home safe and sound.
Sonu's wife and two children are living with Jitoo in a very small house.
