The mother of the slain Reeva Steenkamp has said that she does not know whether the emotional outburst of Oscar Pistorius is an 'act' and insisted that the Paralympian has turned into a 'devil' from a 'hero' after killing her daughter on Valentine's Day last year.

Pistorius has faced fierce cross-examination during his murder trial, with the prosecution demanding he admit his model girlfriend's death was more than just a 'terrible mistake'.

According to the Sydney Morning Herald, Steenkamp's mother June, who has attended each day of Pistorius' trial in Pretoria, admitted that she is 'instinctively' obsessed with looking at Pistorius to see how he is coping, adding that the athlete's courtroom demeanour had been very dramatic with 'the vomiting and crying'.

June Steenkamp further said that she does not know whether Pistorius is 'acting' or not as he is on his mobile phone, looking down at papers or writing notes most of the time, adding that she feels her presence unnerves Pistorius because he is answerable to her.

Stating that she does not care even if Pistorius goes free, June Steenkamp also said that he has to stand up to what he has done and pay for it, adding that he has gone from 'hero to devil' as he had an aggressive persona and was used to people adoring him.
