Relatives of passengers aboard the tragic MH370 Malaysian Airlines flight have sought a new plan, after the search was deferred subsequently due to a new setback.

According to News.com.au, tempers flared after the joint centre set up to oversee the search for the jetliner that vanished on March 8 said a robot submarine had found no trace of the plane in a section of the southern Indian Ocean where acoustic signals, or "pings," were detected.

The Australian authorities later confirmed that the area where the signals were detected is not the final resting place of the plane.

Jacquita Gonsalzes, whose husband was a cabin crew member aboard the ill-fated flight, said that she had become an 'emotional wreck', and urged the Malaysian government to find the plane.

Meanwhile, Chinese Premier Li Keqiang asked Malaysian Prime Minister Najib Razak to take a leading and coordinating role and come up with a new search plan for the missing jet, the report added.
