A Republic Day-like celebration marked the commemoration of the 50th anniversary of the 1965 Indo-Pak war on Delhi's Rajpath on Sunday evening, with a fly past by squadrons of Advanced Light Helicopters ALH-IA, Sukhoi 30s and Mi 17s being the main attraction.
On the occasion, events such as martial arts, a jazz band concert, hot air balloon rides, dance and dog shows, army motor cycle display, magicians, jugglers and a host of other activities were showcased by a carnival 'Indradhanush'. Besides, food courts have also been set up at the venue.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi also graced the occasion and visited the Army's exhibition 'Shauryanjali' on Rajpath, which has been extended by two more days in view of the large turnout.
Earlier today, hosting his radio programme 'Mann Ki Baat', the Prime Minister invited people to visit Shauryanjali to commemorate the victory of 1965 war. He said it was essential for the people to stay with the country's roots.
